A Perfect Fit: Emma finds her passion in early childhood education

When Emma connected with Omnia Inclusive’s Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) team in November 2025, she was looking for something more than just a job. While already working part-time, Emma was looking for something more fulfilling; an opportunity that aligned with her interests and gave her the chance to build a future she was excited about.

Living with anxiety and depression, the idea of stepping into a new role could feel daunting at times. Together with Career Specialist Charmaine, Emma explored her strengths, interests and the type of workplace where she could thrive. They soon identified an opportunity at a local early learning centre that felt like the perfect fit. The role aligned with Emma’s interests, offered meaningful work, and was within walking distance of home, making it an opportunity that was both meaningful and accessible.

With the encouragement of Charmaine and Employment Specialist Tom, Emma found the confidence to put herself forward. Her Omnia Inclusive team supported her throughout the application process and connected directly with the employer on her behalf.

Emma was successful in her application and secured the role!

“The support I received helped me build my confidence and pursue an opportunity I may not have otherwise considered.”

Today, Emma is thriving in a workplace where she feels welcomed, supported and valued. She enjoys working with children and finds real purpose in supporting their learning and development. For Emma, being part of a child’s early years is incredibly meaningful work, and she takes pride in contributing to the next generation.

While finding employment was an important step, the support didn’t stop there. Omnia Inclusive continues to provide regular check-ins, workplace guidance and professional development opportunities, including encouraging Emma to complete her First Aid Certificate. Emma shared,

“The positive and supportive atmosphere at Omnia Inclusive has made it easy to seek advice, ask questions and feel supported throughout my employment journey.”

Reflecting on Emma’s journey so far, Career Specliast Charmaine said,

"Emma has shown remarkable growth in confidence and self-belief. She has embraced new opportunities, continued to build her confidence while managing anxiety, and developed a strong sense of accomplishment through her employment journey. Emma is a wonderful example of what can be achieved with the right support and determination."

For Emma, finding the right job has been about much more than employment. It has given her the opportunity to recognise her strengths, build her confidence, and discover what she is capable of achieving. With a supportive employer, a wonderful team around her, and a growing belief in her own abilities, Emma is excited about what comes next.
