🌟 Last week, asking “RUOK” was at the heart of our activities for our Youth NDIS Participants in Chatswood. We covered important topics such as mental health, work-life balance, and the significance of checking in on each other. Our strategies for mental health wellbeing included art sessions and a sports day event in the park. It was an inspiring week that emphasised the value of mutual support and self-care. 💛 #RUOK #MentalHealth #NDIS

Today is #RUOKDay 💛 – a national day dedicated to reminding us that any day is the perfect day to ask someone, “R U OK?” In Gosford, our team celebrated with a BBQ event to highlight this important message. A huge thank you to Plan Tracker, Kincumber High School, and Bunnings for their generous BBQ donation through the Trades for Teens program. We engaged in creative activities, including designing a wall of positive thoughts, and enjoyed fitness sessions led by Anthony. It was a fantastic opportunity to promote positive mental health, spread the RUOK message, and connect with our community. Special thanks to our attendees from Plan Tracker - Plan Management, Kincumber High, Henry Kendall High, Bunnings Warehouse Australia West Gosford, and Anthony from @Indestructible fitness. 💛 #RUOKDay #NDIS

Meet Zunair, our NDIS participant in Canberra, who has a passion for cars and dreamt of starting a car rental business. A Year 12 student living with Autism and ADHD, embarked on an unexpected journey with the support of the Omnia Inclusive team. The team facilitated a six-week work experience placement at a childcare centre, as he expressed an interest working with children. Stepping out of his comfort zone, Zunair said “Working with the kids was so much fun! I loved talking about our favourite cartoons” and also noted, “The support from Omnia staff helped me a lot, and now I feel confident to do more work on my own.” His newfound enthusiasm for childcare led him to realise, “I never thought about working in childcare before, but now I’m excited to learn more about it.” Zunair now plans to pursue further studies in early childhood.
