Sophie is loving her role at the Orange Ex-Services Club!

After being supported by Omnia Inclusive, Sophie’s confidence soared and she was able to secure a fantastic job that matched her personality, lifestyle and goals.

Sophie first met with the Omnia Inclusive team in October 2022 as part of the Youth NDIS program. The team were immediately taken by Sophie’s personality and quickly got to work learning more about her and finding the best ways to support her.

Sophie’s anxiety had been a barrier for her in the past, so the team were mindful about creating a plan that took that into account, and when Sophie’s team learned that she had an interest in working in hospitality, they set to work creating a pathway that would eventually enable her to work in the industry – and the results were fantastic.

Sophie was part of the Omnia Inclusive Employment Skills Program and attended group workshops to build her employment skills, received coaching on interview skills, was supported by the team to get her RSA qualifications. She also utlilised the in-house Mini Woolies Omnia training centre to help improve her confidence and customer service skills in preparation for a future job opportunity.

In 2023, Omnia Inclusive supported Sophie to apply for a waitress/bartending role at the Orange Ex-Services Club and she absolutely nailed it.

“The skills that I learned while being at Omnia Inclusive have helped me with my confidence and helped me get back into the workforce. I really enjoyed the learning process and I am so excited to see what comes next.”

Once Sophie landed the role, the Omnia Inclusive provided ongoing on-the-job support throughout her training period to alleviate her anxiety and ensure a smooth transition into the workplace. Sophie has been working at the Orange Ex-Services Club for 9 months now and is absolutely thriving.

“Sophie displays great confidence in her role at the club. Her customer service is second to none and she is admired and respected by our customers and fellow staff for her hard work and commitment to the club”
David Carson, Chief Human Resource Officer
Orange Ex-Services Club

Omnia inclusive continue to support Sophie when issues arise on the job. If Sophie needs help dealing with a customer, the Omnia team are always available to give her advice, which gives her the added confidence to address the situation.

“This opportunity would not have been possible if not for my team at Omnia and the continuous support they give me. I am so thankful for all of their help”
- Sophie

Sophie’s managers, colleagues, and customers have nothing but positive things to say about her, and we have no doubt that Sophie will remain at the Orange Ex-Services Club for many happy years to come.

“Sophie has had such a positive impact on our members and guests. We look forward to a long working relationship with her as she continues to learn and grow in our business.”
David Carson, Chief Human Resource Officer
