Mandala Health Wellness

Beauty and Spa
Tweed Heads, NSW
Can you tell us a little about your business and the work you do?

I established Health Return Mandala in November 2020 with a vision to provide a sanctuary for physical healing and mental calm. I built this business from the ground up – from the initial shop design and physical setup to the development of our management systems. Since founding the business, it has grown into a trusted community space where health and wellness are prioritised through expert bodywork and a nurturing atmosphere. We have a dedicated team that includes massage therapists, who use their skills and body knowledge to improve client health; receptionists, who manage the flow of the shop and bookings; and administrators, who handle marketing and business development. Having performed every one of these roles myself from day one, I provide hands-on leadership and understand exactly what is needed for our staff and our business to thrive.

What made you want to build an inclusive workplace?

I believe inclusivity is a way of living. If you are an inclusive person at heart, you naturally build an inclusive workplace. For me, it isn’t a difficult choice or a ‘question’ – it is simply who I am and how I believe a business should exist. You provide an environment that reflects your values.

How has inclusive employment positively impacted your workplace or team?

I believe every person has unique strengths and weaknesses. In our workplace, we focus on a person’s ‘good points’ rather than their limitations. By expanding on what a person is good at, the whole team becomes stronger. This positive focus creates a more supportive and balanced environment for everyone.

What has been one of the most rewarding aspects of building an inclusive workplace?

The most rewarding part is watching someone grow. I love seeing my staff improve their skills, gain confidence, and develop better communication and management abilities. Seeing them become more focused and realise that they can succeed in their roles is very fulfilling.

In what ways has Omnia Inclusive supported you?

As we are at the beginning of our journey together, I am excited about the partnership. I believe Omnia Inclusive provides the essential bridge between our business and motivated candidates. I trust that their expertise in matching the right person to the right role, and providing ongoing support, will help us maintain the high standards of our calming environment.

What advice would you offer to other employers?

Have patience and lead with heart. Focus on what a person can bring to the workplace and grow that talent. If there is something they struggle with, accept it and find a creative solution or a different task that fits them better. Be patient with the learning process – if you place the right person in the right job at the right time, they will flourish.
