Purpose of the role

The Employer Specialist proactively builds employer and industry contacts and relationships to identify open employment placements. The role encompasses proactive promotion of Omnia Inclusive services, establishing Omnia Inclusive offerings in both its core candidate/recruitment services.

The Employer Specialist understanding of employers’ skill and resource needs and supports their appreciation of the benefits and value of diversity. They play a critical role in ensuring Omnia Inclusive candidates are placed in appropriate and supportive roles and environments and in nurturing the potential for career options for the participants over time.

The Employer Specialist applies their industry knowledge to offer tailored support programs for Employers that utilise appropriate incentives and support packages to enable Inclusive Employment. This role has a critical function in working cross functionally with operational staff to help build key employer relationships and support structured

offerings.

The Employer Specialist also proactively manages current and future employment opportunities to ensure a streamlined customer experience for the employer that generates repeat business and positive promotion of the brand in the marketplace.

The Employer Specialist provides localised and individualised support to the participant and employer to progress placement and career progression providing a combination of face to face and onsite contact to ensure high quality service is customised to meet both needs.

About the role

As our Youth Employer Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting young people with disability to develop employment skills, gain work experience, and transition into sustainable employment. You will work closely with participants, families, employers, schools, and support coordinators to create individualised pathways to employment.

In this role, some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement personalised employment support plans
  • Build strong relationships with youth participants and their families
  • Collaborate with employers to identify inclusive job opportunities
  • Deliver pre-employment training and mentoring
  • Support work placements, job trials, and ongoing workplace success
  • Maintain accurate progress reports and NDIS documentation
  • Work within NDIS funding guidelines, especially School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) or Finding and Keeping a Job (FAKJ)

About you

The suitable incumbent would have:

  • Passionate about youth development and disability inclusion
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in employment services, youth work, or disability support
  • Understanding of NDIS and relevant funding streams
  • Driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally
  • Cert IV in Disability, Employment Services, Youth Work or similar (desirable)
