**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate NDIS Youth Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting young individuals with disabilities under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The NDIS Youth Assistant will work closely with clients to assist them in achieving their personal goals, enhancing their independence, and engaging in community activities. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide personalized support to youth with disabilities in accordance with their NDIS plans.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and transportation to appointments or community events.
- Promote social inclusion by facilitating participation in community activities and recreational programs.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support.
- Document progress and maintain accurate records of client interactions and outcomes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual support plans tailored to each youth's needs and goals.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of young individuals within the NDIS framework.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge related to disability support.
**Skills and Qualifications:**
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Youth Work, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience working with youth and individuals with disabilities (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with clients, families, and professionals.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs and environments.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- A valid Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
