**Job Title:** Youth Assistant

**Location:** Australia (Part-Time)

**Job Summary:**

The Youth Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young people in our community. This position involves working closely with youth programs, providing guidance, and fostering a safe and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for youth engagement and empowerment, promoting educational and personal growth through various activities and support services.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Assist in the planning and implementation of youth programs and activities that promote engagement, personal development, and social skills.

- Provide individual and group support to young people, serving as a mentor and positive role model.

- Facilitate workshops and activities related to life skills, educational support, and social integration.

- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all youth participants.

- Collaborate with other staff members and community partners to create resources and opportunities for youth.

- Monitor and report on the progress and participation of youth in programs, providing feedback to program coordinators.

- Encourage youth to express themselves and engage with their peers through various activities.

- Assist in administrative tasks related to the coordination of youth programs, including maintaining records and preparing reports.

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and organizational policies.

**Skills:**

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with youth.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to challenging situations.

- Knowledge of youth development principles and practices.

- Proficient in using technology and social media for communication and engagement purposes.

**Qualifications:**

- Associate degree in youth work, social work, education, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- Prior experience working with youth in educational, recreational, or community settings.

- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

- National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain before commencing work).

- Understanding of cultural diversity and a commitment to inclusivity.
